If you, or someone close to you, is dealing with epilepsy, this is not a journey that you, or they, have to take alone. There are many resources to which you can turn for support, advice, information, and guidance. By taking advantage of these groups and organizations, it’s a way of moving forward.
At Suncoast Epilepsy Association (SEA), we are dedicated to spreading epilepsy awareness and providing medical counseling, education, advocacy, and pre-vocational services to medically and financially needy individuals who are suffering from epilepsy. We are proud to serve without regard to race, sex, religion, national origin, creed, or political persuasion. Our epilepsy association in Clearwater, FL, encourages you to schedule an appointment with us so that we may assist you in completing your application and assessment — we're even willing to come to your location, doctor's office, or facility.
Epilepsy is not an insurmountable challenge, and we happily offer whatever assistance we can to those diagnosed with the disease. No matter what question or concern you may have, if you want to learn about how to improve seizure control, for example, please feel free to contact us at any time, and we’ll help you in any way we can.
We’ve been providing epilepsy services since 1973 for people throughout our area, and we are proud of the support we deliver. It’s a challenge that we accept readily and strive to exceed every day.
The target demographic that SEA serves is estimated to be 2% of the population, or approximately 28,000 Pinellas and Pasco County residents. And our mission is simple — to serve individuals in their own communities. You are no longer required to come into the office to receive services and support, as we do our annual assessments at the location of your choice. We take pride in our complete individualized care plans.
Education is powerful, and it’s a tool that we provide to everyone who we support. It is also a multi-faceted component of what we do. There are levels of service we provide that look at every area of living with epilepsy for everyone who has it or who is close to them.
Prevention is also a part of SEA's education effort. This proactive program seeks to prevent some kinds of epilepsy by teaching how to avoid known causes and prevent additional seizures once epilepsy has been diagnosed. We are also committed to preventing the incredible social and personal problems associated with epilepsy today. Call to learn more!
